Tylar & Chanel

Jon & I instantly fell in love with Chanel when meeting with her to talk about her wedding. Tylar wasn't able to make it to the meeting, but she told us all about him and just raved about what a great guy he was! We were excited to finally get to meet him when we met up with them for their engagement session!

It's so obvious how perfect they are together after hanging out with them for just a couple of hours, and we are SOOO excited for their wedding in July!

Color Theme Thursday

This week's Color Theme Thursday kept it neutral with white, denim, and cacky and then gave it a pop with bright yellow and bright blues :)​

Make Over Monday

This week's Make Over Monday was of this sweet little girl who was only 4 days old!​

First, I brought the Raw image into Lightroom to adjust for exposure, blacks, contrast and shadows. Next I brought it into Photoshop where I sharpened it and did final touch ups to it....enjoy :)​

It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I photographed their wedding, but time is just flying! Since I last saw them they've added this sweet little man to their family! He's so adorable and such a good baby!!

Blue Bird Jams

​These ladies make some amazing jams!!! Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of jam until I tried theirs, and now I'm in love!!! Seriously, you have to try it! Have a tasting party at your house...invite your friends....and fall in love with their jams too :) I promise you will!

On Easter Sunday I brought their Hot & Spicy Strawberry Jam to my sister in law's parent's house. I poured it over a block of cream cheese and served it with wheat thins and it was a hit!!! My daughter now ask for PB&J daily because she loves their Simply Strawberry.... I mix their Apple Jam in with my sons yogurt...it's delish....My hubby adores their Tangerine flavor....trust me....it's all amazing!!

Make Over Monday

This week's Make Over Monday was shot on a Canon 6D with the 50mm 1.2 lens.​

I brought it into Lightroom first to adjust for Exposure, Color, and Contrast. I also added some vignetting. I then brought it into Photoshop where I sharpened it and then noticed I wasn't totally happy with the edit, so I adjusted for Brightness and Contrast again. That's it :)

I'm bringing back Color Themed Thursdays!

#1 questions clients ask me.....What should we wear?!?!​ Should we match?!?!?

I'm hoping with these posts it will give potential clients a little help with ideas of how to coordinate families for their pictures.​

I'm going to start this week with a picture of my own little family. :)​

The first outfit that was picked out was actually my husband's. From there I knew our color palette would be grey,red,white,black, and jean. I pulled what we had from our wardrobe already and then went and picked up the last remaining items to finish the outfits.

Make Over Monday

It's time for another Make Over Monday!​

I brought this image into Lightroom where I adjusted exposure, color, and contrast. I then brought it in to Photoshop and did sharpening and touch ups to his face.​

This little guy had just gotten up from a nap, so it took him a bit to warm up but when he did he showed me the sweetest smile!!!​

Make Over Monday

​Oh wait, It's not Monday!! OH WELL!!!

Since my 2nd child has been born I've been super absent on the blog. It's been brought to my attention that I need to step it up in the Facebook and Blog department, so once again I'm bringing back some special weekly blog posts that I used to do in the past :)

Make Over Mondays is when I post an image that I've photographed 2 different ways. First I post the picture just as I see it straight out of the camera. The next image I post is the final image after I've edited it. ​

I do all my editing in Lightroom and final touch ups in Photoshop.​ In Lightroom, I adjusted for exposure, shadows and contrast, and then desaturated it. In Photoshop, I sharpened it and did a few touch ups.

Here is an image from a recent shoot. This little guy was so handsome and just too sweet! enjoy!​

The Michel Family

I love that I get to meet so many new people doing this job! The Michel Family recently traded chilly Ohio for sunny ​San Diego when they moved here not too long ago.

It was on the chillier side and was not our usual sunny San Diego the day of their shoot, so we cruised around the streets and waited until the very end to let the kids go crazy down at the beach!

Ribbon & Rhyme

I can't believe it's taken me THIS long to write this blog post, but I've been so busy with all the new business stuff that I just haven't had time! ​

After having my son just a little over a year ago I quickly learned that I wasn't going to be able to shoot as many weddings as I would like to. I cut down the amount of weddings that I shot, but I was still having a hard time keeping up with everything that comes along with running a wedding photography business! 

Luckily, my good friend, Jon Upson, who was already an amazing wedding photographer was just as excited as me to jump in and create a new and amazing wedding photography company together!​

We created Ribbon & Rhyme​

We launched our business on our Facebook page ​about a month ago (our website is still in the works), and have had a ridiculous amount of love and support from everyone! In just a month we've already booked a bunch of weddings and are so excited to be filling up the calendar with all of these amazing new clients!
