Forget Me Not Landscape Design
This shoot was definitely something new for me, but I really enjoyed the challenge of something new and exciting! Roxy of Forget Me Not Landscape Design contacted me about shooting one of her designs....her very own backyard. I was amazed when I showed up....it was absolutely gorgeous! I adore looking through Better Homes and Gardens and magazines like that, so this was fun for me to create images that would work well in those magazines that I love :)

I've had several clients move out of state and each time it makes me so sad that I won't be able to document their family anymore! That is definitely the case with these guys. I first photographed their daughter when she was just a newborn, and now I get to photograph their new little guy just a few weeks before they move.

Mark & Lori
When I first spoke with Lori on the phone she said that she wanted to meet me in person, and she was going to bring along her sister because her sister was a photographer. I show up to find that her sister, the photographer, was Leslie...a girl I used to work with at Wolf Camera probably 14 years ago!!! Crazy!
Lori told me that their wedding would be at Harrah's Casino, and I have to admit when she first told me that I was a little nervous. The only area of Harrah's I had ever been to was just inside the casino, and that was not so exciting to photograph :) She immediately showed me pictures she had taken the last time she was there and I was relieved to see that it was actually a very pretty spot to get married!
The day was filled with love and laughter with their closets friends and family! Here are some of my favorites from their day....enjoy!
Brad & Kelly
Get ready for serious picture overload! I loved so many of these that I just couldn't decide which ones to put on the blog, so I'll put them all :)
If you know Brad, you know his love for all things retro. He of course did his homework and found THE perfect place to take their engagement pictures. This place was the perfect blend of retro and modern and could not of been a more perfect location for their engagement pictures. We followed it up by heading to the beach to get some shots where Brad proposed to Kelly, and got some awesome shots there as well :)

Tylar & Chanel
Jon & I instantly fell in love with Chanel when meeting with her to talk about her wedding. Tylar wasn't able to make it to the meeting, but she told us all about him and just raved about what a great guy he was! We were excited to finally get to meet him when we met up with them for their engagement session!
It's so obvious how perfect they are together after hanging out with them for just a couple of hours, and we are SOOO excited for their wedding in July!

Color Theme Thursday
This week's Color Theme Thursday kept it neutral with white, denim, and cacky and then gave it a pop with bright yellow and bright blues :)

I adore these kiddos! I've been taking their pictures since they were itty bitty ones, and it's been so fun to see them grow up into the amazing kids that they have!

Make Over Monday
This week's Make Over Monday was of this sweet little girl who was only 4 days old!
First, I brought the Raw image into Lightroom to adjust for exposure, blacks, contrast and shadows. Next I brought it into Photoshop where I sharpened it and did final touch ups to it....enjoy :)

It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I photographed their wedding, but time is just flying! Since I last saw them they've added this sweet little man to their family! He's so adorable and such a good baby!!

Blue Bird Jams
These ladies make some amazing jams!!! Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of jam until I tried theirs, and now I'm in love!!! Seriously, you have to try it! Have a tasting party at your house...invite your friends....and fall in love with their jams too :) I promise you will!
On Easter Sunday I brought their Hot & Spicy Strawberry Jam to my sister in law's parent's house. I poured it over a block of cream cheese and served it with wheat thins and it was a hit!!! My daughter now ask for PB&J daily because she loves their Simply Strawberry.... I mix their Apple Jam in with my sons yogurt...it's delish....My hubby adores their Tangerine flavor....trust me....it's all amazing!!

Make Over Monday
This week's Make Over Monday was shot on a Canon 6D with the 50mm 1.2 lens.
I brought it into Lightroom first to adjust for Exposure, Color, and Contrast. I also added some vignetting. I then brought it into Photoshop where I sharpened it and then noticed I wasn't totally happy with the edit, so I adjusted for Brightness and Contrast again. That's it :)

I'm bringing back Color Themed Thursdays!
#1 questions clients ask me.....What should we wear?!?! Should we match?!?!?
I'm hoping with these posts it will give potential clients a little help with ideas of how to coordinate families for their pictures.
I'm going to start this week with a picture of my own little family. :)
The first outfit that was picked out was actually my husband's. From there I knew our color palette would be grey,red,white,black, and jean. I pulled what we had from our wardrobe already and then went and picked up the last remaining items to finish the outfits.
